It ran fine, you could crank it right up and ride all day. Do a leak down test, if you see bubbles or hear air coming from the radiator, you have a blown head gasket/cracked head or jug. Have you checked to make sure you're actually getting fuel/spark?

I bought a 2007 yfz 450 about 3 months ago. It cranks over but does not want to start. Have you tried starting fluid when it won't start? Pull the plug after cranking and see if it's wet.
Anyway we've fixed that and it's running great now. I installed the new starter and no change, i did pull start it and it ran great and it will start when the motor is warm with the start button but when the motor is cold it will not turn the. After flushing oil, changing plugs and cleaning the carb the bike would crank fine but. Set the valves, they were barely out of spec (on the tight side obviously).
